Montets road-rail tunnel

The Montets road-rail tunnel is used by trains on the Chamonix-Vallorcine line and also allows road traffic to avoid the Col des Montets mountain pass when there is heavy snowfall. The aim of this contract is to upgrade the tunnel’s level of leaktightness, expand its diameter, and bring it up to standard in terms of safety and compliance with road and rail guidelines.

Design-build contract.

Mobility participated in a consortium of companies alongside  Spie Batignolles (responsible for civil engineering) and BG (responsible for integrated project management).

Mobility installed all of the equipment implemented in the tunnel.

Technical details

Design and installation of all tunnel safety equipment: HV/LV supply, lighting, ventilation, video/automatic incident detection, emergency call network, dynamic signs, access management and power supply to the third rail.
